Affordable housing coming to 30th and Wharton - South Philly Review Work will soon begin on the first leg of a project to build 1,000 new affordable energy-efficient homes across the city. The 3000 block of Wharton Street in Grays Ferry in South Philadelphia was the site of a gathering on Dec. 12 as City Council leaders, housing officials and advocates broke ground....

I was joined by the leadership of the Marian Anderson Historical Residence and Museum today to present a check for $250,000 to help the non-profit with operating expenses and to complete renovations to the facility. The goal is to reopen the Museum by April`2023.

REMINDER: Our annual youth Winter Coat Giveaway will happen TODAY (Tuesday, December 13) from 4-7 p.m. at the Wilson Park Boys and Girls Club, 2500 Jackson Street. The event is first come, first served, and while supplies last. Guardians must bring their children in order to receive a coat.
