What has climbing taught you?

Meet the artist behind our 2026 Pride shirts, Maria Passantino! 🌈

Maria is an illustrator and designer based in Denver, Colorado. When not in the city, she can often be found painting in parks or camping in the mountains. Climbing has been a big part of Maria’s life over the years, no matter where she has lived or which gyms she’s been in.

In this time, Maria has found welcoming spaces in the climbing community that foster LGBTQIA+ joy and relationships. These spaces have been a source of bravery and strength to be loud and proud—a lesson that she keeps practicing every day both on and off of walls. Because of this, she wanted to focus this year’s design for the PRIDE tee around that vibrant feeling of support and love that has helped so many people. She hopes that these LGBTQIA+ spaces continue to grow, providing community to everyone who is looking for it! 🌈
