The Literacy Enrichment After-School Program is a free, drop-in out-of-school time program that takes place at every neighborhood library in Philadelphia.

LEAP Youth Advocate Bryan Belknap says goodbye to McPherson Library Bryan Belknap, who for eight years has led the Literacy Enrichment After-School Program (LEAP), is leaving his position. His role was funded by a five-year contract with Impact Services, which is coming to an end.

Got any plans for your family over Valentine's Day?
Join Galaei and Philly Family Pride for a fun event on Feb. 11th from 4pm - 6pm.

This get together is for families in the greater Philadelphia region where one or more members identifies as part of an LGBTQIA+ community, whether that's the youth, kid(s), and/or the adult(s) who are LGBTQIA+-identified.

It'll be a fun afternoon of music, line dancing, crafts, and a free raffle with lots of great prizes. There will be a teen kick back space, movies, and snacks, too.

Dr. Ala Stanford Center for Health Equity is hosting an event sponsored by the Black Doctors Consortium and Heights Philadelphia. They are inviting all high school and college students interested in healthcare for an evening of virtual career exploration in the world of healthcare. They have gathered some of the best local talent in healthcare, who will share with students insight into various allied health cares. Learn more about what it really takes to pursue careers in medicine, nursing, physical therapy, and more!

We’re wrapping up November with some of our favorite LEAP library activities about indigenous peoples!

This includes read-alouds at Logan, learning about Lenape lands and legends at Richmond, making Seminole patchwork cards at Andorra, and exploring Native American history and totem poles at Fox Chase!
