Today, June 5, is the 45th anniversary of the first official reporting of HIV. Since then, this day became known as HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day.

These long-term survivors include people diagnosed with HIV before 1996, those living with HIV for over 10 years, or those who acquired HIV at birth or as young children.

We celebrate their resilience and support them as we continue to advocate for their needs.

Queer-owned studios help power Philly Fitness Pride - Philadelphia Gay News The third annual Philly Fitness Pride will have 21 area gyms offering special group classes June 6 and 7 to benefit the Mazzoni Center.

Changes to Medicaid made in HR 1 could mean 10 million people will lose their benefits by 2034. HR 1 also cuts more than $900 billion in Medicaid funding over 10 years.

- The biggest loss of Medicaid coverage will come from new work requirements, even though most people with Medicaid who can work already do so.

- For folks who cannot work, even the smallest error on the paperwork to get an exemption could mean they will lose their benefits.

- Medicaid is the primary insurer for people living with HIV. Losing Medicaid benefits could mean thousands will lose access to life-saving medications.

Now is the time to speak up against the new work requirements!

Take control of your health and build community by joining the LEAD Health Advocacy Group for LGBTQ+ youth. Beginning June 2, this in-person program will help those 18-24 learn about mental, physical, and sexual health topics. Those who complete the program will receive a $100 gift card.
