A beloved project we started last fall was published this morning in The New York Times. It will also be featured in the printed Real Estate section this Sunday, September 10th. It touches on downsizing, grief and creating a healing environment after unexpected loss.

Excited about this feature in Ocean Home Magazine about our Miami project we finished up last year!

Bold Color and Fashion-Forward Style Inject Fun Into a Contemporary Miami Condo - Ocean Home magazine It’s not often that a client pushes a designer to go bolder and brighter. “My client was serious when she said they wanted colorful, fun, and inviting,” designer Barbara Vail says. “She sent me back to make the scheme more vibrant.” Vail’s empty nester clients headed south from Boston, p...

Our Miami Project + Remote Design Process One of our favorite big renovation projects of 2021 was located in Miami. Our clients were relocating from their Boston-based home to a new, high-rise modern condo in downtown Miami. They were excited for the upcoming move to warm, sunny Florida but knew they needed the expertise and guidance of a p...

Heyyyy it’s me.. just in the middle of packing for a move a few weeks ago 😅 ((also before realizing bandanas weren’t optimal masks)). I’ve been thinking how much my life has changed in the past few years. A break up that broke me 3y ago and then lots of new beginnings...as well as therapy on therapy etc etc. I have not loved every moment of it all and am not one to be like “I learned from this” 😂 though ultimately, I think I did.
My own changes have reinvigorated me in BVDs mission to help you through your own transitions in life, love and spaces. I needed a team of support to get through my own changes ( + to name a few) and wanted to offer help in other areas that compliment shifts in the interior design of your space.
Any change, and especially one to your home, can create or exacerbate mental health issues (🙋🏼♀️). I introduced therapist Michaela Herr and .rooted a couple months ago and we will be working together again with in the fall with a virtual art therapy workshop (hi Philly!). Swipe for details.
AND we will be joining efforts with the Brooklyn based leadership firm to offer a program where you will meet virtually with both Sarah and I for combined interior design and career consulting. Will share info later this month on how to apply.
I had plans to expand further into the northeast this summer, and while most of it is remote at this point, I am excited to add homes from Philadelphia and NY to our Boston fam ❤️❤️❤️
