Get over any guilt you may have. It is a destructive feeling. If you need to apologize for something to someone, do it. If it is impossible to do in person, close your eyes, ask for forgiveness, and let it go. What is very important is to forgive yourself for not being a, or b, or c. Sometimes we set very high goals or make simple mistakes. Instead of overthinking our experiences, we need to look at them as lessons, make conclusions, and move on.

Being grateful is the bridge between the world of nightmares and the world where we are free to say no

Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let them master you...

Why do you think people stay stuck in the past and what do you think can help them move beyond that point?

Sitting here rewinding through memories stored in my mind. Remembering people I knew who are no longer here, people I know who will never see the streets again. Realizing that both could have been my fate even before reaching adulthood. Remembering all the stupid stuff I've done to myself and others. Remembering how I was able to switch up my ways and actions. Remembering me changing for the better and going in the direction to become a productive member of society many moons ago. Some of the thoughts that are popping up are from so long ago that they almost seem like they are from someone else lifetime. Now I work in the mental health field helping others. Now me and wifey started a non-profit organization (Divine Mindz 215) that we put together to help the youth navigate in a positive direction through this thing we call life. After sitting back rewinding through the memories, saying that I'm grateful is damn near a understatement!!!

Divine Mindz 215 is a non profit organization that was founded to improve the quality of life for the youth, including incarcerated youth in Philadelphia as well as the rest of Pennsylvania. Our mission is to help create a healthier and higher quality of life for youth from underserved communities in Pennsylvania and beyond.
