Last week I photographed a bar mitzvah boy and his family.
What made the session meaningful for me is not visible in the images, but maybe you can feel it.
I knew his grandparents long before their daughter was born.
Now I am photographing their grandson at a moment that marks another turning point.
The family had a full Shabbat ahead of them, guests arriving and a celebration to follow.
This is what family photography means to me.
