Tree House Books is growing & sustaining a community of readers, writers, and thinkers in Philadelphia, PA
Tree House Books is a literacy center and Giving Library based in North Philadelphia serving children and families. Our programs move beyond strictly academics to include a social, emotional, and cultural focus. In addition to providing access to a wide variety of books, we foster healthy attitudes towards reading and help our participants expand their self-concept through awareness of the opportunities reading provides. We also engage the community in holistic literacy activities that reflect our community’s rich ethnic, racial, and cultural heritage, giving us deeper access to examining issues that are relevant to our lives. We believe that students deserve an opportunity to read their way into their futures.

We are hard at work writing Tree House Books' next Chapter but want to take a moment to share an exciting update 🌟
The Board of Directors has named Michael Brix and Tangie Wilson Co-Executive Directors of Tree House Books!
As Managing Director, Tangie has played a pivotal role in Tree House's growth and this new title recognizes the leadership he has shown throughout the years. The combined leadership of Michael and Tangie will take Tree House to new heights. The Next Chapter for Tree House will be amazing!

VOLUNTEER CALL!
We're running training sessions for anyone looking to learn how to represent Tree House Books at community events!
Learn by doing! We’re hoping to have a cadre of folks to learn alongside Executive Director Michael Brix to empower you to become a Tree House ambassador – eventually working in smaller teams giving away books, passing out informational literature, and sharing the Tree House Books resources throughout Philly!
Meet us in the Literacy Corner at the K12 School Fair located at PA convention center - 12th and Arch - Saturday, September 19th, between 10 AM to 4 PM for a shift!
