Union Energy is proud to announce new leadership as Rob Bair assumes the role of President. Angela Ferritto, who has served as President since 2024, will transition to Secretary-Treasurer.

Together, Rob and Angela bring decades of experience advocating for workers, strengthening communities, and advancing policies that support family-sustaining union jobs. Their leadership will help guide Union Energy’s mission to ensure Pennsylvania’s clean energy future is built by skilled union workers and delivers lasting benefits for working families.

Looking ahead, Union Energy remains focused on building momentum for an energy future that works for workers, communities, and the Commonwealth. With Rob and Angela in leadership roles, the organization is well positioned to advance policies that expand opportunity, strengthen the economy, and keep Pennsylvania’s energy workforce at the center of the conversation.

Leaking methane, contaminating water, and threatening public health—abandoned and orphaned wells leave lasting impacts on our communities.

Union workers have the skills and expertise to safely plug these wells, protect our environment, and create family-sustaining jobs in the process.

Orphaned wells is one of Pennsylvania's most urgent environmental and economic challenges, and it's been neglected for too long.

Our Capping Orphaned Wells Campaign is designed to clean up environmental hazards while creating good-paying union jobs in communities hit hard by fossil fuel decline.

We're proud to have Kris Anderson, International Representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), serve on the board of Union Energy.

A 17-year IBEW member and former journeyman lineman, Kris brings extensive labor, energy, and legislative experience to the Union Energy Board. His dedication to protecting workers' interests and strengthening Pennsylvania's clean energy workforce helps drive our mission forward.

We were proud to spotlight how union apprenticeship programs are shaping the next generation of workers for careers in the clean energy economy.

From live feeds at LIUNA Local 332, Boilermakers Local 13, Philadelphia, Insulators Localfourteen, and Cement Masons Local 592, we showcased how labor is building a strong, skilled workforce pipeline to meet growing energy demands.

Today we remember the workers we’ve lost—and commit to building a clean energy future with union jobs, wages, and protections at its core.
