Neck and shoulder tension is one of the most common complaints we hear in our office.

Hours at a computer, poor posture, stress, long drives, and even looking down at a phone can place added strain on the muscles and joints of the neck and upper back.

Common signs include:

• Neck stiffness
• Shoulder tightness
• Headaches
• Reduced range of motion
• Tension between the shoulder blades

Simple daily habits such as regular movement, stretching, hydration, proper ergonomics, and maintaining spinal health can make a meaningful difference.

If your body has been sending signals, now may be the time to listen.

MINDFUL MONDAY

Burnout does not live only in your mind. It lives in your shoulders, your jaw, your chest, and the shallow breath you have been taking for longer than you can remember.

Anxiety has an address in your body — and your nervous system has been keeping score of every hard week, every sleepless night, and every moment you pushed through instead of pausing.

Psychiatrist and researcher Dr. Bessel van der Kolk spent decades studying exactly this. His book, The Body Keeps the Score, is one of the most important things you can read if you have ever felt like your stress lives somewhere deeper than your thoughts can reach.

We recommend it often. Because understanding what your body is holding is the first step toward giving it real permission to release.

This Monday, consider what you are carrying this week. Your nervous system is always listening — and it responds to care. 🌿

RESET SUNDAY

Some days you walk in carrying something you've learned to live with.

Dianna had been managing daily migraines for months. After her first visit to Atlas, those migraines — the severe, relentless kind — stopped being a daily occurrence.

Her words: "It has been life changing."

That is exactly why we do this work. Your nervous system deserves the chance to reset. The body holds more capacity for change than you may realize right now.

If you've been carrying something you've quietly accepted as normal, this Sunday is a good day to ask whether it has to be. 🌿

Pickleball is having a moment and so are the injuries that come with it. That quick pivot. The awkward landing. A rolled ankle you felt the second it happened.

The foot is the foundation of every movement on the court. When something shifts down there, the knees, hips, and lower back start compensating fast.

Recovery works best when it begins early. If you’ve tweaked something recently, let’s take a look.

Movement is medicine. Let’s keep you in the game.

That little bump on your foot? It has a lot to say. Bunions do far more than cause discomfort at the site.

They shift the way your ankles, knees, hips, and spine move — and over time, your whole body begins compensating for that imbalance in ways you may never connect back to your feet.

At Atlas Chiropractic, Dr. Ralph looks at the full picture. A kinesiological evaluation helps us understand exactly what is happening in your body so we can build a care plan that actually works for you. Relief is possible. It starts with one conversation.
