The David David Gallery is pleased to announce the Exclusive Representation of the Estate of Amalie Rothschild (1916-2001), a major American Modernist artist working mainly in the second half of the 20th century in various media including but not limited to paintings, watercolors, sculptures, textiles and drawings. Facing and overcoming obstacles of social and commercial influence in the 20th century, Amalie constantly reinvented herself and explored relentlessly injecting her own social visions with fearless abandon. Her works recount and reflect a personal vision of life as seen through a symbolic deconstruction and simplification which in turn is then reinterpreted into a purer form of creation.

Works in Cubism, Geometric Abstraction and Redefined Modernism & Symbolism will be represented. We have embarked upon a long term program to bring Amalie back to the public eye offering the rare opportunity to acquire these extraordinary works of genius. She is unique in the realm of Modern Art as she exhibits certain traits reminiscent of artists like Picasso, Giacometti, Klee, Albers, Noland, Feininger, & Archipenko but takes her own interpretation to new levels of creative sophistication and precision. Amalie's works are in Major Museum, Corporate and private collections worldwide.

We will be premiering a stunning select group of Amalie's paintings and sculptures at the LA ART SHOW in our Gallery Booth #209, January 15-19, 2014 and also at The PALM BEACH JEWELRY ART & ANTIQUES SHOW over Presidents Day Weekend, February 14-19, 2014 in our Gallery Booth #416. As well we will be offering several American and French Impressionist paintings and a few other Modernist works as we have dramatically expanded the scope of our gallery representation.

We welcome your visit and inquiry!
