TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY TO BUY YOUR SPOTS FOR ROUND 2 OF THE 60/40!
OVER THE WEEKEND, THE TOTAL POT ALMOST DOUBLED!
We are selling spots for ROUND 2 of our 3 summer 60/40 drawings! As of today, the total pot is at $4,460 dollars, which means if we spun the wheel now, the winner would receive $2,676, and the church would receive $1,784.
Remember: This is the SHORTEST round of the three 60/40 rounds. Sales for this round close TOMORROW.
As usual, spots on the wheel are 1 for $10, or 3 for $20. You can go to the rectory during regular business hours, or purchase through Parish Giving, by following the steps in the second image below for this link: https://www.parishgiving.org/index?e=83F33CBA2FFC6D35F677B955F6A84D18E8EB96166D329033
Sales are final TOMORROW - Wednesday, June 24th, and we will spin the wheel after the 11AM Mass at our Hot Dog Social on Sunday, June 28th. The winner of this 60/40 will likely get a nice chunk of change right before the Fourth of July weekend!
Good luck, Saint Matt's!

During the weekend of June 13th-14th, Saint Matthew Parish was happy to host Brother Mike from the Brothers of the Sacred Heart for the annual Mission Co-Op Appeal.
The Brothers of the Sacred Heart came to the United States as missionaries in 1847, and are involved in education, parish ministry, social work, counseling, youth ministry, campus ministry, coaching, home and foreign missionary work. Their mission is the evangelization of young people, and their schools, centers and formation programs are in need of assistance in the Philippines, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Lesotho. Brother Mike shared his experiences visiting several of these places when he spoke with our congregation.
There are envelopes at the entrances of the church if you would like to make a donation. You can read more about the Mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart at their webpage: https://www.brothersofsacredheart.org/home-mobile.html

It’s the start of a new week, so we are back with a new ! We have made the move to the lower church for the summer, so Father Welsh is taking a moment to point out and explain the significance of the medallions on the ceiling.

PRAYER OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in this Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

IN ONE WEEK - Saint Matt's is happy to welcome back Father Charlie Cappelli, who was newly ordained this past May, to be the celebrant for our Vigil Mass on Saturday, June 27th. Father Cappelli was assigned to us in 2021-2022 as a seminarian. Please keep him, and his classmates, in your prayers as they begin their first assignments in the coming weeks!

It's still June, and this entire month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus! Take a moment to say this prayer today.
"O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer You this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen."
