The latest beat around here is from Belgium — the new single "Man Child," from Walter Broes & the Mercenaries. While we didn't shoot this video, we really really like it. No, we love it….Walter's vocals and the band's spooky tone fuse into one cool groove. (And the video makes us think of cocktail lounge lizards at midnight... shades of cool, in luscious black and white silver nitrate, à la Jarmusch.)

2015 is looking great, with some cool new projects brewing. We'll be posting more news as the year progresses…
Meanwhile we appreciated this story that aired yesterday on NPR's Weekend Edition about the passing of legendary record producer John Fry, who founded Ardent Studios in Memphis. Reported by our good friend Rick Clark, a producer and L.A./Nashville -based music supervisor. Thanks Rick, and rest in peace John.
A Light Goes Out In Memphis Music producer Rick Clark remembers John Fry, co-founder of Ardent Studios, who died last month after 50 years of nurturing some of the best music to ever come out of Memphis.
