Graduation day is right around the corner, so it’s time to start celebrating the 13 members of the ! 🎓
To start, we’ll be introducing the 3 PCR seniors who are headed to the University of Pennsylvania this fall: Sophia, Susan, and Finn. We are so proud of these remarkable student-athletes, and cannot wait to see all that they accomplish at Penn and beyond. ❤️💙

Last week, the PCR staff and families came together for our end-of-season banquet to celebrate our amazing high school student-athletes! ⭐️

What a way to close out the 2026 spring season! The PCR student-athletes delivered an outstanding performance at The Stotesbury Cup Regatta this weekend.
Our Boys Junior 2x made program history, earning PCR's FIRST-EVER STOTESBURY MEDAL with a bronze-medal finish. 🥉 Our Girls Senior 8+, Senior 4x, and Junior 2x also rose to the occasion, each qualifying for semi-finals in their respective events.
None of this would be possible without the incredible community behind our student-athletes. Thank you to the volunteers, coaches, family members, friends, and PCR supporters who made this season one to remember.
Now, onto summer rowing! ☀️

The Stotesbury Cup Regatta kicks off today on the Schuylkill River! PCR has 8 boats competing. All boats will race in time trials for a chance to qualify for semifinals and finals.

Philadelphia City Rowing is proud to welcome Frank Rowe to the PCR Board of Directors!
Frank is an executive coach, consultant, and educator with more than 25 years of experience supporting organizations in leadership development, strategic planning, and performance improvement. His work has included partnerships with organizations such as GSK, AstraZeneca, Merck, UnitedHealthcare, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
A competitive rower for more than 40 years, Frank rowed collegiately at UC Santa Barbara, competed for the U.S. National Team, and is a current member of Undine Barge Club.
Frank also recently released The Leadership Stroke, a book that explores leadership through the lens of rowing, communication, trust, and performance under pressure.
We are excited to welcome Frank to the PCR Board and grateful for the perspective and leadership he brings to our community!

Congratulations to PCR varsity student-athlete, Lucia, who was honored last night by Philadelphia Girls' Rowing Club as a recipient of the Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta scholarship!
The award recognizes graduating high school rowers for their scholarship, team spirit, and leadership. It is given in honor of Bill Braxton, a Marietta College rower remembered for his dedication, competitive spirit, and love for rowing.
Lucia will attend St. Mary’s College of Maryland in the fall, where she plans to study Marine Science.

Congratulations to the PCR Boys JV 2x on becoming 2026 Philadelphia City Champions! 🏆
It was an exciting weekend at City Champs for PCR. In addition to our win in the JV 2x, we had FIVE boats racing in finals today. We’re so proud of the impressive performances across the board from both our varsity and novice student-athletes.

What a week we had at PCR. There is a lot to recap!
EY CONNECT DAY 💛
▸ On Friday, our friends from EY rolled up their sleeves and helped us tidy up the boatyard for EY Connect Day. They painted, planted, and made the place look spotless. Thank you to all the volunteers for their hard work.
COSMIC CAFE SHOUTOUT 🥙
▸ Cosmic Cafe & Catering catered our EY Connect Day event. We are lucky to have them as neighbors and are grateful for all they do to support the PCR community.
COOPER CUP 🏁
▸ Abe and Sasha made the trip to Cooper River this weekend for the Cooper Cup. The Men’s U19 2x had more than 59 entries, with 59 boats racing. They placed 7th in the time trial, qualifying for the Petite Final, where they finished 3rd.
PREPARING FOR CITIES 🏙️
▸ Our student-athletes enjoyed some beautiful spring weather as we make our final preparations for City Championships, beginning Saturday, May 2.
It’ll be another busy week at the boatyard as we welcome the newest group of PCR student-athletes for the first week of our spring middle school program. We can’t wait to meet this next generation of rowers!
