DeVal Lifecycle Support has maintained Nadcap accreditation for NonDestructive Testing, supporting customer requirements for controlled, documented inspection of mission-critical components.
Through accredited Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Penetrant Testing (PT) capabilities, DeVal helps customers verify product integrity, identify surface and subsurface indications, and support compliance across aerospace and defense manufacturing, remanufacturing, and sustainment programs.
These NDT methods provide a proven way to inspect critical parts without damaging the component, helping programs reduce risk, support quality assurance requirements, and keep equipment moving through production and lifecycle support.
“Maintaining Nadcap accreditation for NonDestructive Testing reflects the discipline of our quality team and the strength of our inspection processes,” said Derrick Whitfield Jr., Director of Quality at DeVal Lifecycle Support. “For our customers, NDT is about confidence. It gives programs a controlled, documented method to verify product integrity, support compliance, and keep critical equipment moving through manufacturing, remanufacturing, and sustainment.”

Carry The Load was founded in 2011 by Veteran U.S. Navy SEALs Clint Bruce and Stephen Holley to actively connect Americans to the sacrifices made by those who serve. Originally a grassroots effort, the non-profit organization has grown into a nationwide movement focused on remembrance, education, community action, and support for those affected by service.
Since then, Carry The Load has raised more than $50 million to support military and first responder communities, with 93 percent of every dollar raised going to programs. Support helps fund counseling and mental health support, adaptive training and equine therapy, su***de prevention programs, service dogs, job placements, and scholarships for children of the fallen.
Their mission is clear: “To provide active ways to honor and remember our nation’s heroes” by connecting Americans to the sacrifices made by military members, veterans, first responders, and their families.
In honor of Military Appreciation Month, the team at Parts Life, Inc. and DeVal Lifecycle Support have donated to the organization in honor of our customers, suppliers, and partners. We’re proud to share Carry the Load’s mission and help bring more awareness to the work they do for those who carry the weight of service and sacrifice.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all who have served, those currently serving, and the families who support them. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and commitment to our country.

Carry The Load | Honoring Military, Veterans & First Responders Carry The Load connects Americans to the sacrifices of our military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Join Memorial May events and help restore the true meaning of Memorial Day.

As we approach Memorial Day, we take time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States of America. Their sacrifice protects the liberty and freedom that our country was founded on.
While this weekend marks the beginning of summer, bbq’s and beach trips, its true meaning rests in remembrance. As we spend time with our family and friends, we pay tribute to our fallen service members.
May God eternally bless their memories, and may the hearts of their loved ones be filled with comfort and peace.
Wishing you a meaningful and safe Memorial Day weekend.
“Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them.”

Team DeVal Supports Fleet Readiness 🚁
DeVal Lifecycle Support manufactured one of the largest support equipment assets to date for the CH-53K program, supporting operational readiness for a critical heavy-lift platform.
Manufactured in our HUBZone facility, this effort required skilled fabrication, machining, assembly, and quality ex*****on to deliver a large, complex asset built to support operational readiness and enable safe, efficient handling of large systems in austere operational environments. In 2024, we added an additional 40,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, increasing our capacity to produce larger assemblies and meet evolving mission requirements.
We’re proud to build giants right here in our Philadelphia HUBZone community, creating skilled jobs and developing the workforce that increases manufacturing capacity and supports long-term sustainment across the defense industrial base.

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we are proud to highlight the women helping drive the future of defense manufacturing at DeVal Lifecycle Support.
During our recent Women In Defense (WID) Liberty Chapter and Women in Manufacturing Eastern Pennsylvania Forging Strength panel, women from across our team shared how purposeful careers in the defense industrial base create meaningful opportunities while directly supporting warfighter readiness.
With an estimated 250,000 additional jobs needed across the defense industrial base over the next decade, strengthening the talent pipeline is critical. Women currently represent 25% of the domestic manufacturing workforce, creating an opportunity to expand capacity through training, technical skill development, and accessible career paths. The perspectives shared on our panel shows the importance of strong representation in historically male-dominated industries, where diverse teams are proven to improve problem-solving, innovation, and performance.
At DeVal, our commitment to our people starts within our HUBZone community, where workforce development, internal certification pathways, and long-term career growth create opportunities and stability for our people while building the skilled workforce required to sustain national defense.
We are proud to recognize:
• Por Por Chhuor, Quality Assurance Manager, who helps ensure production meets customer and military quality requirements
• Denisia Washington-McCray, Welder, who continues building advanced welding skills while delivering high-quality work
• Maureen Hettel, Contracts Manager, whose decades of experience support ex*****on across customer programs
• Melissa Tarte, SHRM-CP, HR Manager, who leads workforce development partnerships and career growth initiatives
• Zhané Bennett, HR Coordinator & Marine Reservist, who supports our workforce and company culture
• Deanna Earle, Accounting Manager, whose 43 years of service have helped shape our organization

Today, Parts Life, Inc. and DeVal Lifecycle Support CEO Sam Thevanayagam was named a 2026 STEP Ahead Awards Champion by the Manufacturing Institute.
In 2017, Sam acquired DeVal Lifecycle Support, a long-standing HUBZone defense manufacturer in Philadelphia, with a commitment to preserve its workforce and invest in training and opportunity. Since then, the company has grown more than 400 percent while creating high-skilled manufacturing jobs that strengthen the defense industrial base. At DeVal, Sam has applied operational principles known as the Rules of Flow, rooted in the Theory of Constraints, to support the realities of high-mix, low-volume defense manufacturing where thousands of unique parts must move through engineering, sourcing, and production in small quantities. By focusing on system constraints, limiting work in process, and balancing flow across operations, the team improves throughput and reduces lead times while maintaining reliability for complex sustainment programs. His leadership emphasizes workforce development, continuous learning, and empowering employees to solve problems in real time while supporting the mission of the U.S. warfighter and taxpayer.
We are proud to recognize and uplift . Join us in congratulating Thevanayagam on this well-deserved honor.
