꙳ ✻ you’re invited! ✻ ꙳ The Philly Yarn Crawl () is back for a second year, organized by local yarn shops in the greater Philadelphia area. Registration is currently open for this fun, community-filled four-day event taking place March 13-16, 2025 across 16 shops. A yarn crawl is an organized event giving fiber craft enthusiasts the opportunity to visit the local yarn shops in the area.

Weaver House will be offering a ~ FREE ~ little loom weaving pattern (no experience required) to everyone who stops by. We’ll also be giving away a $200 gift card to one lucky visitor, and every purchase over $50 will receive a special gift. In our studio in 204, we’ll have pop-ups and vendors each day of the crawl!

join us for 🌀 CRAFT CIRCLE 🌀 in 2025!

once a month Weaver House staff member, , hosts a night of community crafting at our studio in South Philadelphia. This is an informal space to bring projects you’re working on and meet other crafty folks! Craft circle is always on a Tuesday from 6-8:30pm and you can drop in at any time. We kindly ask that you do RSVP for these events, so we know who to expect.

feb 11 ~ craft circle: spinning • for this circle, we will be offering a workshop on how to spin with a drop spindle! You can either borrow a studio drop spindle, bring your own, or purchase our introduction to spinning kit.

march 4 ~ craft circle: weaving • for this circle, we’ll be offering weaving instruction on our small-sized hello! looms. If you’re interested, you can purchase a kit with your craft circle registration. For the hello! loom instruction portion, please arrive by 6:15pm.

june 10 ~ craft circle: indigo dyeing • for this circle, we’re offering a chance for people to dye with a community indigo vat! Anyone who attends is welcome to bring something to dip into the vat, to dye different shades of blue.

july 8 ~ craft circle: embroidery • for this circle, we will be offering a workshop on embroidering on a hoop! We will cover how to make common embroidery stitches such as satin stitch and rosebud stitch, and you will be able to create a small custom design to take home.

✧ only two spots left ✧ Join us this weekend, Jan 12 from 1pm-4pm for a special afternoon workshop— project planning and weaver notes!

do you have trouble project planning — where to start? — or how to keep your weaving notes organized? Join instructor , the founder of Weaver House and designer behind weaver notes, for an afternoon of textile design, project management and studio practice tips and tricks.

students will learn the basics of how to plan their own projects and determine specifications such as: warp and weft yarns, warp width and length, epi, reading a harness draft, etc. They will also learn about using a sketchbook to record project notes, how and why to sample, labeling samples and general studio practice knowledge. Each workshop participant will have the option to purchase a weaver notes: project planning notebook to get them started on their weaving journey– how to use this notebook will also be covered in the class. Rachel will show examples of her project notebooks, weavings & samples, and tour students through her personal studio.

this course is designed for multi-shaft and rigid heddle weavers, but advanced tapestry and frame loom weavers may still find it useful (especially if you’re considering making the jump from the rigid heddle to a floor loom). Students will also have the opportunity to page through resource books within Weaver House’s extensive library.
