“Unlike Jesus, many Christians today approach evangelism from a judgmental standpoint. We approach evangelism today by seeing ourselves as better than the unbeliever that we want to sell Jesus to. We approach evangelism from the perspective of “I’m better, I’m just doing you a favor” or “I have what you need, I’m just coming to pull you out of hell.” While it is true that anytime we sell Jesus to someone we are pulling them out of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, we should not approach evangelism from this perspective. Instead, we should approach evangelism from a standpoint of love. When you approach evangelism from a judgmental standpoint, it negatively impacts the effectiveness of your selling. You know why? Because the person you are selling Jesus to can feel the vibes. They can see that you’re telling them that they do not measure up; that they are trash; that they are living for nothing; that they are living in darkness and you are living in the light.”
