He’s the costumer for the Woodland String Band and one of the most caring people there is. Thank you James May for always being willing to help those in need!
Delaware County costume designer James May created a limited edition “Liberty Beret" for America’s 250th birthday, with all proceeds benefiting Mummers Against Cancer. MORE BELOW ⬇️
Yesterday we celebrated the life of one of the men that embodied our band motto of “One Heart, One Spirit”.
Joe “Chief” Greco poured out his heart and soul for the Woodland String Band. So the least we could do was send him off the only way we know how.
Here is the band playing an arrangement of one Joe’s favorite songs, Monsters by James Blunt.

Today the Woodland String Band lost a true club legend. The man we lovingly referred to as CHIEF passed away holding his loving wife's hand after a long, hard fought battle with lung cancer.
Joe Greco was a man who was deeply loved, admired and respected by every member of the Woodland String Band. He was the man who knew everyone and everything there was to know about Woodland. He served as our Chief Marshal for many years and remained on the Board of Directors after he retired as our Chief as a Director-at-Large. Joe served as our building manager, rental manager, club steward and is a member of the Woodland String Band Hall of Fame. Though he never wore a costume or played an instrument his impact was at the highest level and his dedication was that much higher. He brought his two son's Scott and Ryan into the band and later on his oldest grandson Troy. All of these men show the same dedication as Joe.
First and foremost, Joe was a family man. His wife Pat, his daughter Lauren, son's Scott and Ryan were his whole world and then he became a Pop and his grand children took over. He loved his grandbabies and spoiled them rotten.
Joe will be missed deeply by us all but remembered for all he did for the club and the members of the club as well.
Rest in Peace Joe, your legacy shall live on within the walls of Anderson Hall and in the hearts of your fellow members.
ONE HEART - ONE SPIRIT!

This past Monday, for Memorial Day, we split our band in half to spread the happiness! Half of the band performed in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia. And the other half continued our 25+ year tradition of performing in Glassboro, NJ. Despite the weather, both parades were jam packed with people!
Here’s our parades we’ll be in this upcoming weekend:
- Saturday: Haddon Township, NJ at 4pm
- Sunday: Manhattan, NY for Israel Day on Fifth
