✨ Meet Collin✨ Originally from Cherry Hill, NJ, Collin has been studying theology for several years and now joins us through the FVM program. Collin hopes that this experience will help him “become more humble and immersed in serving others in all areas of life, not just in theology.” So far he has loved meeting everyone and seeing “how God is teaching me to love others practically and that it is ok to just help people physically and regularly.” He’s also the nephew of a former FVM! 😊 Franciscan Volunteer Ministry

✨ Meet Colby ✨ All the way from Mississippi, Colby is joining us as a 2026-27 FVM! He says, “I’ve been here for a month now and meeting a lot of new people and guests has been an amazing experience. I’m hoping to grow to be a more compassionate listener and to look at others more than myself.” Fun fact about Colby: he’s been an Eagles fan long before he ever thought he’d live in Philly. What a joyful weekend! Our St. Francis Inn community joined the Franciscan Friars of the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Silver Spring, Maryland as 8 brothers made their Solemn Vows, a lifelong commitment to live and minister as Franciscan Friars! We were especially overjoyed to witness the vows of former St. Francis Inn staff members Tyler, JP and Brian, as well as the first Mass of Fr. Josh who spent a summer with us a few years ago.

Br. Tyler, originally from Hershey, PA, has spent the last year and a half ministering with us in preparation for his Final Vows. He quickly became an integral member of our community, someone our guests, volunteers, and staff all knew we could count on for an encouraging word and a wise perspective. Now we wish him the best as he continues his studies for the priesthood, and hope God will bring him back to Kensington to serve our guests in the future.

Many of you will remember Brothers Brian and JP from when they spent 2021-2022 with us during a year of immersive ministry formation with the Friars. Both were wonderful additions to our community, forging close friendships with colleagues and guests and inspiring all of us with their faith-filled lives as instruments of God’s peace.

Please join us in congratulating these brothers on reaching this joyful milestone! We wish all the newly professed and ordained brothers a lifetime of fulfillment in Franciscan life!! 🕊️🙏

This summer 332 Notre Dame students, from incoming first year students to seniors, are participating in one of the institute’s summer programs. We’re thrilled to highlight students in our two signature programs, NDBridge and Summer Fellowships, over the coming weeks!

Rising sophomores in NDBridge—like finance major Jesse Ayissi—spend their 8-week immersive experience thinking hard about injustice, working with communities around the world that face it, and considering their responsibility to the common good while at Notre Dame and beyond.

Jesse is working with St. Francis Inn, a Franciscan soup kitchen and social service center serving the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. In this photo, he is bussing tables during their Sunday morning shift. He writes, “While bussing, I try to get myself familiar with the guests of the St. Francis Inn. This includes sparking up conversation on the most trivial of topics. I learned how to be efficient while also having fun, and it has become one of my favorite jobs while at St. Francis.”
