This weekend we celebrated an exceptional group of young filmmakers at WHYY's Youth Media Awards! Please join us in congratulating all the students who submitted their work for consideration and are taking powerful steps toward bright futures.

High School Documentary - 1st Place "Making Waves" by Jakiyah Wright, Desmond Maggione, Clare Padula from WHYY's Youth Employment Program

Middle School News/Documentary- 1st Place "The Harlem Renaissance" by Wesley Tewksbury from McCall Media Club

High School Narrative - 1st Place "The Spoon" by Deven Lloyd, Charlotte Garson, Mark Conlow, Artyce Moody, Sylvie Sanders, Ellie Kennedy.

High School Open - 1st Place "Once Upon a Time" by Adedoyin Badmus.

As the summer approaches and school is coming to an end, young people are still left with unanswered questions and uncertainty. What will school in the Fall look like? How can young people protect themselves from Covid-19? Will the city fully re-open? For the last event of the school year, Youth Set The Stage will host local guests with varying expertise to discuss Summer 2021 and how to set realistic expectations, stay safe and make the most out of it.

This event is funded by the Independence Public Media Foundation.
