New Dancer Announcement 🌟🌟🌟
BalletX is thrilled to welcome Anderson Da Silva to our 2026-2027 Season!
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Portuguese/Peruvian dancer Anderson Da Silva began his training with teachers Paula Nunez and Osmany Montano before continuing his studies as a ballet major at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Upon graduation, Anderson joined Cincinnati Ballet’s Second Company, where he danced for two seasons under Artistic Director Victoria Morgan and later Jodie Gates.
Anderson then joined Grand Rapids Ballet, where he danced for three seasons under Artistic Director James Sofranko.
Throughout his professional career, Anderson has performed works by an extraordinary roster of choreographers, including George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Twyla Tharp, Justin Peck, Trey McIntyre, Mark Morris, Ohad Naharin, Penny Saunders, Jerome Robbins, Septime Webre, and Gerald Arpino, among many others.

New Dancer Announcement 🌟🌟🌟
BalletX is thrilled to welcome April Watson to our 2026-2027 Season!
April began her dance training at age eight through the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Preparatory Program and graduated from the UNCSA High School Program in 2016.
Throughout her training, April spent summers on scholarship at School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Charlotte Ballet, Indiana Ballet Conservatory, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Joffrey Ballet School.
After graduating from UNCSA, April spent two years in Los Angeles studying under the direction of Debbie Allen as an Artist in Residence on scholarship.
In 2019, April joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet, where she danced through 2026.

New Dancer Announcement 🌟🌟🌟
BalletX is thrilled to welcome Clay Murray to our 2026-2027 Season!
Originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Clay began his dance training at age 12 at On Your Toes Dance Studio, where he trained in Jazz and Contemporary and competed nationally, as well as at South Mississippi Ballet Theatre.
At 16, Clay moved to Houston, Texas, to train with Claudio Muñoz and Andrew Murphy at Houston Ballet Academy, expanding his classical and contemporary movement. At 18, he joined the Professional Division at Pacific Northwest Ballet, training under Peter Boal and Kiyon Gaines.
Since then, Clay has danced with Boston Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, and Ballet Rhode Island. His repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, Azure Barton, William Forsythe, José Limón, Trey McIntyre, Mikko Nissinen, Chanel DaSilva, Christopher Wheeldon, Yury Yanowsky, Andi Schermoly, and Helen Pickett.
A choreographer as well as a dancer, Clay has also created six world premieres for Ballet Rhode Island’s company and school.

New Dancer Announcement 🌟🌟🌟
BalletX is thrilled to welcome Rui Cruz to our 2026-2027 Season!
Born and raised in a small town in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Rui began his dance training at age 13 at Núcleo de Dança–Ador’art. At 14, he moved to Rio de Janeiro’s capital to continue his studies at Grupo Cultural de Dança–Ilha under the direction of Patrícia Marques.
Over the next five years, Rui competed nationally and internationally, earning First Place at the 2019 Festival de Dança de Joinville, recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest dance competition by number of participants. He was also named Top 12 at the 2020 Youth America Grand Prix Finals and competed at the Prix de Lausanne, where he became a finalist and received the Contemporary Dance Award from Minerva Kunststiftung.
At 19, Rui joined Miami City Ballet as a company apprentice before being offered a corps de ballet position in 2021. In 2022, he attended the Netherlands Dans Theater Summer Intensive and also received the “Mérito Legislativo” award from the town of Comendador Levy Gasparian.
