Every tree starts somewhere. 🌳
Eleven years ago, Natural Creativity took root in Germantown. This fall, we’re growing into a new home: The Oak at Good Shepherd Church, 3820 The Oak Road in Northwest Philadelphia.
To every family, young person, facilitator, and neighbor who built this community with us — thank you. You made this growth possible.
The Oak gives us room for everything we’ve become: a self-directed learning community where young people ages 5–18 are trusted, celebrated, and free to follow what lights them up.
Our doors (and our hearts) are open. Come see what’s growing. 💜

🍿 What’s popping?
Us. We’re popping.
Two things going on over here:
1️⃣ Our popcorn fundraiser ends Monday, August 10. Every bag puts $5.50 into our scholarship fund — the fund that keeps a spot at Natural Creativity open for a young person no matter what their family can pay.
2️⃣ We’ve got news. Butter believe it’s worth the wait. 👀
Not a popcorn person? Straight donations land in the same place and are just as welcome.

What a night! 💜 Thank you to every family who came out for our Summer of Imagination movie night. Young people crafting self-portraits, imagining who they’d be in another world, and settling in together for the Super Mario Galaxy movie on our splatter wall.
Together we raised over $1,260 tonight through donations and popcorn orders, bringing our scholarship fund total to more than $13,490! 🌟 Every dollar keeps Natural Creativity accessible to all families.
Missed movie night? You can still be part of it:

We’re thrilled to deepen our collaboration with Brooklyn Robot Foundry Philadelphia this year — and this time, there are TWO offerings coming during our winter session.
Coming Tuesdays in the winter, our space becomes a builder’s workshop:
For our youngest young people: a hands-on robot-building experience where imagination gets wired, soldered, and set in motion.
For young people 9 and up: a coding track that turns curiosity into creation.
This is what learning looks like when it starts with wonder.
And about that space… let’s just say the builders aren’t the only ones with something new in the works. 👀
Winter will be here before we know it — and enrollment for 2026–27 is how you save your young person a seat at the table. Link in bio. 💜

Something big is taking root. 🌱
For over ten years, Natural Creativity has grown alongside the young people of Germantown — and now we’re growing again. We can’t say much yet. What we can say: more room to build, to make, to gather, to be.
The seed is planted. The announcement is coming.
Stay close. 💜
Week 6 of 9 at Camp Creativity — and what a summer it’s been. 🌞
No set schedule. No one-size-fits-all activities. Just young people leading their own adventures — building, exploring, creating, and discovering what lights them up. That’s what a completely self-directed summer looks like.
We’re officially FULL for the rest of this summer (thank you, Germantown! 💜), but if this looks like the kind of summer your young person would love — join our email list and you’ll be the first to know when registration opens for next summer.

Registration is open for the School House Lane Arts program on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30. The first semester arts session runs for 12 weeks from 9/15 - 12/8.
Calling all performing and visual artists ages 9-14 who want to create new ensemble work with friends and passionate teaching artists!
There is no script (yet). The adults won’t dictate what skills should be learned or what the final performance should look like. This is also not a free-for-all where chaos reigns! Instead, we’ll trust the process. We’ll play, experiment, practice, revise, and continually ask ourselves: What do we want to say through art? What stories, questions, or ideas matter to us? And how can we use the arts to express them?
Maybe it will be a poetry slam with interpretive dance and a watercolors exhibit. Maybe it will be an a ca****la concert featuring handmade masks. Maybe it will be original monologues with life-size puppets. There really are so many possibilities.
The 12-week journey will look something like this:
Play → Let loose, have fun, and create the space for ideas to emerge.
Explore → Pull those ideas apart, experiment with them, and discover what has potential.
Workshop → Shape those possibilities into artistic work while developing the skills and confidence needed to bring them to life.
Rehearse → Refine, revise, and continually weave individual ideas into a collaborative whole.
Perform & Exhibit → Share what we’ve created together with family and friends on December 8th!
Throughout it all, we’ll operate from the assumption that THE WORLD NEEDS US TO CREATE, because it truly does.
