We're in rehearsal, preparing for performances at Ballet on the Beach Festival, September 20th at 5pm on Assateague Island. We'll be presenting BACHTANZ (2023) and Forage (world premiere).
In Forage, dancers display hybrid movement gestures, rhythms, and qualities to honor the inspiring wildlife and ecosystems located in the coastal bays of Maryland. Choreographer and JDC director Darion Smith chose the Piping plover, Puritan Tiger Beetle, and Barking Tree Frog to bring awareness and ignite interest around the incredible biodiversity of the coastal bays and the impacts of human activity on it. Each of these animals (bird, beetle, and frog) have experienced habitat loss.

**Rain date is Sunday, September 21st
