Did you miss the Opening Reception for "We Are the Ones" last weekend?

The gallery is open this Sunday, Sept.20, from 1-3pm. Viewings are also available by appointment! And make sure you save the date for the closing reception on Oct. 2. 🥂

We Are the Ones is a juried group exhibition featuring work from 18 DMV-area artists. Inspired by the final line of June Jordan’s Poem for South African Women, “We are the ones we have been waiting for,” this exhibition explores what can happen when we choose collective care instead of isolation and individualism.

I have not one but TWO art collages in this show! I plan to attend the closing reception on Friday, October 2nd and hope to see you there!

This week's poetry is a morning memory from the eyes of love.

I am happy to announce that two of my collage artworks has been selected to be shown in the group exhibition entitled "We Are the Ones" hosted by Willow Street Gallery in Washington, DC!

"We Are the Ones" is a juried group exhibition exploring the power of collective action and transformation. Bringing together 18 multi-disciplinary artists from across the DMV, the exhibition considers what it means to wield the power to build something new, together.

Inspired by the final line of June Jordan’s Poem for South African Women, “We are the ones we have been waiting for,” the call invited artists to reflect on resilience as a communal practice. Through varied mediums and perspectives, the selected artists explore what holds us together, the forces that divide us, and the ways we sustain one another across generations and geographies.

In a moment when our world rewards isolation and inertia, "We Are the Ones" asks what might happen if we recognize our own capacity to create change and one another as the place where that work begins.

Opening reception: Sept. 12, 6-8pm
Open hours: Sept. 20 and 27, 1-3pm
Closing reception: Oct. 2, 6-8pm
