Philly UP
We are Philly UP: Philadelphia United for Progress We mobilize quickly when our democratic ideals are under attack.
Philadelphia United For Progress (or Philly UP) is a momentum-based movement seeking justice and equality driven political systems in the city, state and federal level. We support elected officials and power brokers who push for inclusive policies, and lift voices of marginalized groups. We strive to increase voter turnout, especially in primaries, and provide political community outreach and education throughout the city.

Take a minute to sign this petition asking legislators to stand with PEOPLE! We need support for frontline workers, working families, small businesses, and everyone struggling right now. Yet many in Harrisburg are playing dangerous games - voting to overturn public health regulations and even voting *against* protections for frontline workers. Click below to sign the petition to the PA General Assembly:
Tell your legislators to stand with all of us! Frontline workers need protections. Working families need relief. Small businesses need support. That’s not happening in Harrisburg. Instead, Republican legislators are distracting us by playing dangerous political games and voting to overturn public health regulations. Join me in signing this pet...

We must stop the PA GOP from trying to overturn Governor Wolf's "Stay At Home" order - this order was put in place to keep everyone safe, to help flatten the curve, and to reduce illness and deaths due to COVID19. ALERT: Tell your legislator to put lives before profit Speaker Mike Turzai and the PA GOP are attempting to ignore science and health experts by opening businesses and putting workers, customers, and communities at risk. Write to your legislators and tell them to choose lives, not money—REJECT amendment to SB327!
: On 6/27/19 the U.S. House voted to approve an additional $4.5 Billion dollars ICE and CBP with little to no increase in oversight.
3 of our local House reps had the moral courage to vote against this bill: Rep Dwight Evans in Philadelphia, Rep Brendon Boyle of Montgomery County and Rep Mary Gay Scanlon of Delaware County. If they are your local representatives, please call their office and thank them for making the correct vote.

129 House Democrats just voted to give even more money to ICE and CBP, which they will use to detain and deport families. They can make whatever excuses they want; more money to Trump's deportation machine means more money for concentration camps and raids.
Here's the roll call - if your House Dem is one of these 129 folks, call them now and tell them how pi**ed off you are. http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2019/roll429.xml

Please call your U.S. House congressperson ASAP. House “leadership” has once again caved in and is complicit in funding concentration camps on our southern border.
The House WILL take up Mitch McConnell's version of the border bill TODAY. Call your member of Congress right now and tell them you're paying attention and that any vote other than NO is a vote to give ICE more money to continue terrorizing immigrant families.

The House of Representatives just passed the American Dream and Promise Act!
Now it's the Senate's turn. Call Senator Toomey and ask him to support Dreamers and TPS holders at (215) 241-1090 or send an email through his website here: https://www.toomey.senate.gov/?p=contact
If the Act becomes law, Dreamers and TPS recipients will have permanent legal protection and a path to citizenship.
