đź’¬ Ask Me Anything (AMA) With Kirtney Keifer, Academic Professionals (APs) Representative and Academic Advisor at Temple.
This Spring, we sat down with union leadership for a series of Ask Me Anything (AMA) videos to answer questions submitted by our community. Kirtney shares the deep commitment of APs to supporting students, and how work load increases and service cuts are impacting her constituency.
✊️ Watch the video to learn more about how we can all get involved as members to strengthen our shared, ongoing project of organizing together.

We had demanded a meeting with President Fry about the budget cuts, who directed our members to their Deans. Without substantive answers from either, we’ll be sharing our members’ questions here.

We deserve a voice in the future of our institution.

College & university faculty teach classes that transform students’ lives and run labs that result in lifesaving medical research. They create opportunity and strengthen communities. We must defend higher education, not defund it!

Last week, more than 100 members attended our Emergency Budget Meeting in response to the university’s recent cuts.

Temple University claims it has made these cuts transparently, but the lack of faculty input, last-minute deadlines, and overdue submission of the university’s STAIRS financial report show just how opaque these decisions are being made

📢 Members! We're asking you to participate in our Citizens' Audit of Temple's Publicly Reported Finances.

The need for this analysis comes from the upper administration’s lack of transparency around their budget priorities. Without clear communication about a strategic plan or vision for Temple’s future, we are forced to rely on publicly available documents to piece it together ourselves.

Previous reports have shown donations to a pickleball club and additional renovations to the President's office during a “budget crisis”.

➡️ Members can find the link to the document in their 5/19 email with instructions.

Congratulations to Chris Rabb, our endorsed candidate, who won the US House of Representatives, Pennsylvania's 3rd District last night! Rabb is a former member of our union and one of our staunchest allies, and we couldn't be happier that he's headed to Washington! ✊
