Last Friday we had a chance to collaborate with to discuss the role of archival work and movement building. We learned about Movement Alliance Project’s documentation of early campaigns. It also felt really energizing to hear from the media coordinator at learn about how they are finding innovative ways to use media to connect with their members. This event served as a celebration of where we’ve been and where we’re going—
It’s also worth noting that our friend at PM made the choice bring out a photo to honor Gretjen Clausing who recently passsd. Gretjen was of beloved community media champion and has been a huge supporter of POPPYN/UCC since day 1! May her fierce energy for justice continue to inspire and ignite change in our communities 🕊️💜

Yesterday the Philadelphia School board approved a plan to close 17 schools. Our POPPYN youth producers were at the School district documenting the real emotions and immediate impacts of this decision. What stood out to us was the passion and pride students (and educators) had for their school community.
It was clear students, families, educators, policymakers and organizers will continue to fight for justice and equity within our School District! Stay tuned for our upcoming segment on this topic!
& Special thanks to and for taking the time to speak with our students!

We are honored that our youth producers had the opportunity to share their film and speak on the importance of Black & Asian solidarity alongside other powerful creators and storytellers. Thank you to our partners at for inviting us into this meaningful space and conversation!
