SoLow Fest was founded in 2010 by Philadelphia performance artists Thomas Choinacky and Amanda Grove. Seeking a way to present their own solo work, with minimal expense, they conceived the idea by jointly presenting their work and reaching out to other interested artists. Now in its fifth year SoLow continues to experiment with their niche of using non-traditional locations and venues, inspiring a

Semi-Composed: Chaos/Order
Presented by Vervet Dance

June 16th @ 8pm

Mascher Space Cooperative, Headlong Rear Studio - 1170 S. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19146

Vervet Dance director Loren Groenendaal and their collaborators and friends present improvisational compositions of dance and music performance. All of the pieces on the program explore the themes of chaos and/or order. One work explores ideas from quantum physics and the intelligence of cell membranes in a contact improvisation based dance. Another performance is inspired by the wonder of birds and their behaviors and is done in collaboration with the band BORBs. Fitting into the SoLow Fest’s theme of mess, these artworks explore what is chaos? Does order even exist? Is that a mess or a very complicated and detailed situation?

Collaborators include Jessica Brown, Kaijo Caggins, Derek Freeh, Lou Brownlee, Aaron Pond, and more.

This presentation is kid friendly.

Masks required for audience members.

Run time: 60 min

Tickets are PWYC at the door. Email [email protected] with questions

.. or just P**T for short. This show is a part recorded / part live epic that follows the wacky journey of a kidnapped heiress who realizes the worst thing ever… that the world has problems. Directed by Monti Cerabino and written by Andrew Miqueli, this piece is inspired by the kidnapping of Patty Hearst, the Simple Life with Paris Hilton, and all other tidbits of history and pop culture that take up space in any sane person’s mind. Written and Directed by Cam Silva (he/him)

June 24th @ 8pm
Funicular Studio - 416 West Coulter Street 19144
