Bird Studio

Congratulations to the winners of the 2026 Preservation Alliance Award! Bird Studio was pleased to contribute to the preservation of the historic Bellevue-Stratford Hotel, which is a Grand Jury Award Winner.

If you’ve been following along for awhile, you know this was a major project for us, and a true labor of love. Bird Studio stabilized nine major columns in the grand lobby of the Bellevue, along with work cleaning and restoring the original marble.

In the second image, you can see the state of the original columns, yellowed with age and full of cracks. That happens when things are over 100 years old!

We worked closely with the Preservation Alliance to bring these beauties back to their original intended glory, where they can proudly stand for another 100 years.

There will be an award ceremony on June 3rd to honor the winners and the important preservation work taking place in our city.

Today’s *Featured Partner* is Gregory Augustine of August Interiors!

Gregory is an expert with pulling from many styles and traditions to create beautifully unique spaces that really tell a story about their owner. We’ve loved working with him to bring completely new pieces to life, a true collaboration!

Gregory’s work earned him a listing in Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly series as a featured designer. He has also designed a space for the Philadelphia Antique Show, which showcased his love of antiques.

We recently work with August Interiors to add several bespoke plaster elements to a SoHo condo, including this gorgeous entryway cabinet and drop ceiling (see last slide!)

A recent collaborative project included a custom plaster fireplace with a hand-embossed finish, and we are currently working with them on a gorgeous dimensional plaster feature wall.

Welcome to our “Featured Partner” series, where we showcase the lovely designers and architects to our followers! 

First up is Matthew Millan and Millan Architects. They’re on our mind because we’re currently working with Matt and his incredible team on a large space in central PA. Matt takes a highly collaborative approach, and it’s been a delight to partner with him over the years. 

Millan Architects is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. They are the brains behind many beautiful spaces. Their use of natural light, room flow, and stunning fireplace features are some of our favorite elements!

The first few images here are from Canopy Cathedral and Treehouses at Longwood Gardens, which includes the use of natural materials and historical inspiration.
