🗣️Celebrating 29 years on this day that I gave birth to my nonprofit organization Teenagers In Charge! A dream that came to fruition from working with youth in foster care! The level of treatment and lack of care they received in the homes back in 1995 was unacceptable!

l took the time to help them change the narrative! In listening to their stories, I knew I saw greatness and beyond their circumstances but more importantly I asked what would their life be like if they only learned how to take charge of their lives!

Fast forward, in 2021, I made a bold move to leave my auditor position with the commonwealth after nearly a decade because I wanted to serve this population and today, I serve as 1 of the Foster Care Coordinators with the School District of Philadelphia and Region 1 in PA! My babies will NOT be muted and I will be their biggest cheerleader

I want to say THANK YOU to EVERY SINGLE teenager who are now adults who trusted our Mentoring program. TIC helped to make a difference and Y’all make me proud everyday!

I want to THANK YOU to all my volunteers mentors who took time to serve and listen to teens who needed them the most during that period.

I thank all my collaborate partners and funders!

And lastly, I want to thank YOU for always supporting me with words of encouragement and gratitude!

While TIC looks different post pandemic, we have work to do and the grind never stops!

If you see a teen, give a hug NOT an attitude, show them love NOT hate, give of your time, listen without judgement and continue to keep our teens in prayer is the greatest gift to me.

Parent Connection is an evidence-based parent education workshop series with a goal of promoting parental competence and improving parent-child relationships. This virtual workshop series will encourage participants to speak openly about their experiences as parents, share tips and useful information, and challenge one another to raise responsible children and set appropriate boundaries.

New series begins 5/6/2024 meeting twice a week for 6-weeks. Enrollment for the series closes 5/13/2024.
