Real Girl Method
Erin Chambers is a certified Pilates and Barre Instructor in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Getting in shape shouldn’t be a punishment.
It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. I believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness are worth the challenge. I have developed my training regime by working with a variety of people, and constantly adapting my program to the needs of my new clients.

Is working out on my vacation my favorite thing to do? No, but over a year ago I started seeing a nutritionist and 4 years ago I started working with a person trainer, even though I’m on vacation- I feel better after my morning workouts, and try to go every other day…. Instructors workout too, and also need a vacation 😎

Push-ups are one of those solid bodyweight exercises that hit your chest, arms, shoulders, back and core all at once.
This is how many you should be aiming for....No pressure – just a good benchmark to work up to!

The Pilates Magic Circle: An Archival Timeline
Joe Pilates designed the original Magic Circle out of metal bands with metal handles with rubber padding along each one.
He was able to alter the tension of the circle by building it with more bands for a heavier effect and less bands for a lighter effect.
In these photos from inside the back room of the original studio, we can see how Joe used a light version of the magic circle with Roberta Peters. (Slides 1 & 9-11).
Magic circles have changed over the decades since Joe’s original circle- from wooden handles, to plastic circles with plastic pads, and back again. How have all of these styles affected the work over time, and how does each variation of the circle translate the method differently into your body?
This Sunday we will explore all of this and more, with the largest historical variety of magic circles to ever appear in the same workshop all at once. We’ll study, teach, and practice the archival Magic Circle work together in the very place that Joe himself archived it so many years ago.
And… an original, archival metal magic circle will be back inside Joe Pilates NYC studio for the first time in decades✨
Eileen Fowler was already in her late 40s when she became one of the most famous faces on British television as queen of the tummy-tighteners.
After her first keep-fit programme in 1954, the BBC was swamped with no fewer than 10,000 letters as women tried to work off the extra food they were able to eat following the end of rationing. Eileen was awarded the MBE in 1975 and was a founder member of the Keep Fit Association. At the age of 83 she was still conducting two keep-fit classes a week at Frinton Lawn Tennis Club on the Essex coast.
Eileen passed away on 7 March 2000 in Colchester, Essex. She was 93.

Pilates scissor kicks are a, supine core-strengthening exercise that targets the abdominals, hip flexors, and hamstrings by alternating straight-leg stretches. Strength & Stability: This exercise stabilizes the pelvis and strengthens the deep abdominal muscles.
: It increases the range of motion in the hip joints, particularly in hip flexion and hamstring flexibility.
