The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts mourns the loss of Dito van Reigersberg and our hearts go out to his family, friends, fans, and the entire Philadelphia LGBTQ+ community.
Beloved by audiences as Martha Graham Cracker, van Reigersberg performed with the Orchestra at its inaugural Pride Concert in 2022 and returned to Marian Anderson Hall inside the Kimmel Center for last year's Pride Concert, serving as host and singing “The Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie in a showstopping performance full of strength, perseverance, and joy. Martha was also an Ensemble Arts Theater Residency alumna, and her show “Lashed But Not Leashed” premiered at the Kimmel Center in 2019. Our Miller Theater hosted Martha's 20th anniversary celebration in May 2025. Martha was a singular talent; her spirit will live on in every stage she touched.
