I’m not going to lie; this was special for me—a bucket list accomplishment I wanted to do for several years. Mr. Bones started around 1992, formed by me on guitar and one of my best friends on bass since grade school, Mark. We rounded out the project with Brian on vocals and Doug on drums. Brian, thankfully, quit and was replaced by George, who proved to be the last ingredient to make Mr. Bones something special. We played originals, occasionally threw in a few cool covers, and even did several unplugged acoustic shows (that paid amazingly well).
In 1993, we recorded and released our CD—much gratitude to George and his family for financing the recording. Anyone who went to a studio back then to cut a demo knows how costly the process was and the expense of making CDs and Cassettes.
The Cellblock hosted our CD Release party in October of 1993; special thanks to Teddy, Lynn, and Hoppy for that fantastic opportunity and all the help in making the night look and sound amazing.
Mr. Bones ended as a band around 1997, and afterward, all the members went on to other projects, and each found success. As I learned more about recording and production work, I ALWAYS wanted to redo the lead-off single Fragile. I always thought that song was one of our very best, but limitations with studio time, technology, and money seemed to keep it a really good demo but not as polished as it could have been.
After reacquainting with my old pals from Mr. Bones, we plotted, planned, and executed a new and modern version of Fragile. So, if you are curious, what would a hard rock band from the 90s sound like in 2023? Here is your chance. To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are re-releasing Fragile. It will be available on the official Mr. Bones Bandcamp page to purchase a high-quality download and all other streaming platforms under Rychecnbach Falls (A new project featuring George and me).
