The shelters across the United States are overwhelmed. Millions of animals are being surrendered, and our shelter system is in crisis. As a nation we must step up. When you bring a pet into your life, whether you purchase one, adopt one, or take ownership of a friend’s pet, it is a lifelong commitment. No ifs, ends, or buts. If the apartment complex or townhouse you move into doesn’t allow pets, then you find a new place or reassess your decision. If your job demands too much time and you can’t care for your pet, you change your job or make accommodations, not abandon the animal.
Pets are a gift and they deserve our full responsibility. In the U.S. alone, about 5.8 million cats and dogs entered shelters and rescues in 2024, of which roughly 2 million dogs and 2 million cats were adopted. 
That same year, while adoption numbers are improving, intake remains high and resources strained. 
In 2023, more than 359,000 dogs were euthanized in U.S. shelters. 
Historically, some sources have estimated that more than 2.4 million healthy, adoptable animals are euthanized each year in the U.S. simply because shelters are too full or resources too limited. 
We need better. We have to do better. When you commit to a pet, you’re committing to a living being who will rely on you for their entire lifetime.

Friends come and go—ghosts in the fog of memory, drifting in with laughter and leaving with silence. Some feel like sunlight on skin, warm and nourishing. The ones you trusted, the ones you would’ve bled for, are often the ones who slit you deepest—not with knives, but with silence, betrayal, and carefully chosen lies. You learn that forgiveness isn’t weakness; it’s rebellion against bitterness. You open your heart, trembling, and let light pour in. And in that light, you understand: we are all just trying. Failing. Hurting. Healing. Living—for the first time.

When I originally wrote this song I was so angry, hurt, and upset at the fact that I lost friends. Time and time again, getting betrayed over and over, lied to, manipulated, and cheated. I asked myself this question. If I said goodbye would they fight for me? Because isn't that what friends do? They fight for you? They want you to be in their life? They don't abuse the friendship? So I did it. I said goodbye. I nuked the friendship and exposed everything. Do I regret my decision? Do I still harbor ill feelings? The short answer? Yes. Time does not heal all wounds, it just makes the scars fade. They never fully heal, and in time I will move on and eventually fully forgive. This may be darker than the normal happy Mitch y'all know. But, you got to be honest with yourself at times and just put it out there. I would absolutely love it, if every one of you pre saved this song. I had a blast sharing this song with Life In Fast Forward and working with Thallium Studios to get this done. Joseph Velez absolutely murdered the drums on this. I also got to experiment with Cello's and Violins. Thank you again. Much love. Here's to Clarity.

Landon Axel is an America, singer, songwriter, rapper, producer, and actor. Landon was born October 4th 1992, and was introduced to music by his father when his dad played the trumpet for him. He received his first guitar from his mother at the age of six as a Christmas present. Landon has been influenced by bands such as blink-182, Sum 41, Angels and Airwaves, and many others. Landon's love for music continues to grow each and every day. Landon's main purpose in life is to love and help others anyway he can, as a child Landon was constantly bullied in school and was never the “popular” kid. He took all that pent up anger and hurt and was able to create and outlet that was healthy for him and those whom he holds dear to his heart. Music is not just therapy for Landon but for those who share similar stories to his. Music can bring people together in ways that are unimaginable, music is a powerful tool that when held in the right hands can make a big and positive impact on the world.
