A national survey of crime survivors found a decisive majority prefer rehabilitation over punishment. Yet those survivors are often made to feel isolated by the system.
Coming together, survivors of serious youth harm are creating community through the Survivors Justice Initiative (SJI). Hosted by , SJI is a space for survivors of youth harm who are dissatisfied with the current adversarial processes to connect, heal, and shape justice models that:
🌿Address the root causes of violence
☀️Promote the health of our young people
❤️🩹Center accountability and healing as a vital ingredient to public safety

Due to the little representation of Islamic resistance as a driving anti-imperialist factor in the West, Collective Climb is hosting a political education seminar exploring the intersection of Islam and revolution. From the Advent of Islam to the modern Axis of Resistance, Rumi and Andres will trace the ideological roots of anti-imperialist struggle, with grounding our journey in the life and transformation of Malcolm X. Together, we’ll examine how Islamic thought has fueled resistance movements across the world, with a closer look at Iran’s pivotal role in shaping the spirit of revolution across the global south.

Yesterday, our Hair Braiding Party raised $200 to support Jet’s family locally here in Philly. We are grateful for our braiders and our neighbors who came through. We invite you to support this fundraiser even if you didn’t come yesterday or leave with a style. Link in bio

At a programming session, someone recently asked, “How come we never fought back?” While the short answer is that we did, the longer answer is that we’ve got to take the time to teach what revolutionary resistance meant and continues to mean. Join Rumi and Andrés this Friday from 4-6 at Collective Climb for food, education, and dialogue. This space is primarily for teens, but we do invite adults who want to bring additional wisdom and scholarship forward as guests.
