Something big is coming for the circular economy in Philadelphia. đź‘€

At our last member meeting, we put out a call to this community, and you showed up. Now we’re dreaming bigger than ever about the future of what a truly circular Philadelphia could look like and the infrastructure needed to get us there.

Join us June 24 at for our next Circular Philadelphia Member Meeting. Get a first look at where we’re headed, share your input and help us shape how we move forward together 🔄🏗️

We’ll be sharing:
→ A vision we’ve been building toward (hint: think physical space and a real home for the circular economy in Philly)
→ How members can help shape what comes next and your needs
→ 2026 updates and where we’re planning to focus into 2027 and beyond

Plus a behind-the-scenes look at composting in action, dinner, drinks, and great company 🌱🪱

We loved imagining how circular economy can enable the future of local production in Philadelphia at Mechanism’s national gathering !

05/11/2026

Construction and demolition waste is one of the largest waste streams in Philadelphia – but it doesn’t have to be ♻️🏗️

Circular building practices are changing how we think about materials, reuse, and the value already embedded in our built environment.

On May 15, Circular Philadelphia will join Sustainability Symposium to discuss how circular construction strategies can reduce waste, preserve resources, and rethink the systems behind how buildings are designed, used, and eventually deconstructed.

If you’re interested in sustainability, the built environment, circular systems, or rethinking how materials move through our cities, we’d love to see you there.

Most people would never guess these are real job titles in the circular economy right now.

An IT Operations Architect. A Packaging Category Director. An admin role at an organization dedicated to eliminating waste entirely.

These aren’t future jobs. They’re posted right now.

A lot of these roles don’t look like what people expect when they think of a “sustainability job”, and we want to decide how to find our way into a job that is making a positive impact on one of our most pressing challenges: waste.

The ILO estimates 7–8 million new jobs will be created in the circular economy as the transition picks up. The roles are already here, and they’re only growing.

Next time you’re job hunting in this space, search for keywords like: reverse logistics, extended producer responsibility, remanufacturing, product stewardship, packaging compliance or follow along here.

We share circular economy job opportunities every month.
