Stepping into 2025, we are over the moon to invite you to our fifth event on February 7th in the Sound Room at , featuring the multi-talented force that is .o.n.s_ as he makes his US debut with us.

Tim, a.k.a. S.O.N.S, is a prolific producer pushing the vinyl format through his adventurous DJ sets, his record labels, and his record shop in Seoul, South Korea, . Having settled in the city more than 10 years ago, he has played a significant role in the local electronic music community’s development and is currently a resident DJ at the renowned club Ring, located in the heart of the Itaewon District. While he has many labels, Junction Forest and Hard Beach Entertainment are among our favorites in recent years.

With several well-received records under different aliases (DJ Jacuzziy, Prophecy 47) and collaborations (Forest Witches, Giorgio Celeste & The Cobra), mostly self-released on his own labels, Tim divides his time between creating music in the studio, caring for customers in the store, and compulsively digging for new, unearthed music.

He has a keen ear for sounds we appreciate, and we couldn’t be more excited to host him. As usual, will be on opening duties. Tickets get you access to the entire venue. 🎟️🔗 in bio🌱

For our 3rd installment, we are thrilled to announce our next guest, Carl H, will be making his US debut with us on Friday, November 4th at Public Records in NYC. Carl has been on our radar for some time now, but has been making waves overseas long before. In 2015, he founded the record label, Animals On Psychedelics, that embraces the name well through it’s tripped-out excursions; treading between techno, breaks, trance, electro, downtempo, acid, and earlier strains of progressive house. His bags are sure to be filled with otherworldly delights for this one, old and new alike. On warmup, Biome resident, Taylor Shockley, will join.

As for the venue… we couldn’t be more ecstatic to host this one in the sound room at Public Records. The space features a custom 4-point sound-system designed by OJAS aka Devon Turnbull, paired with a one-of-a-kind 6-channel Isonoe mixer. Aside from the sound specs, the venue offers an eclectic bar program, as well as a vegan restaurant adjacent that operates with sustainable sensibilities. With attention to detail in mind, this space is easily among our favorites.

Subsurface and Biome are teaming up for a Sunday afternoon open air behind La Chinesca PHL in Philadelphia on July 17th, 2022. Our good friend, Brother Dan, founder of Miami-based record label, Terrestrial Funk, will be making his Philadelphia debut alongside Taylor Shockley and Keen for this momentous occasion. In light of the recent overturning of Roe V Wade, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this event to the Abortion Liberation Fund of PA, as we at Biome and Subsurface believe that bodily autonomy is a fundamental right.
