Thanks again to our commencement speaker, Marsha Levick '68, Esq., a nationally-recognized children’s and women’s rights advocate, and co-founder of the Juvenile Law Center, who inspired our class of 2026 with the message: “Go forth, be bold, and be brave!”
We can all agree that the world needs more Friends Select students and alumni. Your support ensures that no matter how turbulent our society may appear, Friends Select remains a beacon of stability, empathy, and Quaker values for the next generation. Using the link below, invest in our mission by supporting our students and employees before our fiscal year ends on June 30th.

Friends Select’s student Emmeline (Emmy) ’34 was featured recently in a CBS3 News segment for being a finalist in the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival Student Design Contest! Emmy’s winning drawing, which she made in honor of the Year of the Fire Horse, has been turned into a large, illuminated lantern that can now be seen as part of the festival from June 5 to August 16 at Franklin Square. Congrats, Emmy!

Congratulations to our 8th grade students and their families! Today, Friends Select held its Moving Up Ceremony at the Race Street Meetinghouse, celebrating the class of 2030 as they made the transition from middle school to upper school.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Celebrate a Decade of Growth event at Friends Select School! When we started planning this event, we began working with The Others () and Rolling Lemon (.co) to create a video that highlights our progress as a Quaker school over the past 10 years and what defines a Friends Select educational experience. Together, we produced “Time to Rise,” which refers to when members of our community are moved to stand and speak during Meeting for Worship, as well as the many ways in which we have been rising (and continue to rise) as a school community.

Last week, Friends Select’s lower school enjoyed a presentation from Temple University’s () Lambda Chapter () of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (). This program was the idea of a kindergarten student, Rohan II ’38, whose father, Rohan Arjun P’38 (), is Friends Select’s director of enrollment management and financial aid. After meetings with Friends Select’s lower school DEI facilitator Lisa White Jones, director of equity and inclusion Toni Graves Williamson, and the Families of Black Students Collective, they facilitated the ex*****on of this assembly. As Rohan II said during his introduction, “I wanted my school to learn about the Divine Nine, which are historically Black fraternities and sororities that focus on achievement, leadership, and service.”
