This Depression-Era recipe is still delicious today! You'll probably think it sounds strange at first, but just give it a shot!

Saying goodbye is never easy and however long we have, it's not long enough. 💔

We knew when we sent Manny to foster, it likely wouldn't be for very long. Some redemption stories only last a couple weeks.

Manny's a**l stricture was too severe and the location of it rendered additional surgeries an impossibility. Doc gave us the "quality of life" speech. We countered with a "Can we get him in a loving foster home and hope for the best?" He said yes, and from there Manny spent the two best weeks of his life. Unfortunately his solid p**p success was short lived before Manny was straining, bleeding, and uncomfortable again.

The most loving decision we could make was to end Manny's suffering and allow him his dignity.

Denise was with Manny today and he passed, peacefully, surrounded by love and free from the pain and discomfort that plagued him.

Sometimes we just get them too late.

So long, Manny. We will never, ever ever forget your sweet little face. And thank you to Denise Brown for being Manny's angel. 💔🌈

I am seeking honest opinions on a $15 dress from the 70’s that I found at Goodwill. Although my friends dislike it, I am drawn to its unique character and the historical context of being made by women in a U.S. women’s union. Given its affordability, I would appreciate unbiased feedback, as I want to look beautiful on my wedding day and am concerned that the dress may appear matronly.

Crumble ground beef over raw chopped potatoes, combined with 3 ingredients, into slow cooker for a simple supper I make without even thinking.

We brought her home just before New Year’s.A quiet, two-year-old girl with soft eyes and a past we could only guess at. All we knew was that her previous owner had dementia, and somewhere along the way, her world had changed in ways she couldn’t understand.

She arrived with more questions than answers.

New house. New smells. New people.

She walked slowly through each room, pausing at doorways like she was waiting for permission that never came. At night, she didn’t sleep much—just lay there, listening, like she was trying to piece together where she belonged now.

We didn’t rush her.

We let her learn us at her own pace.

Small things came first.

A hesitant tail wag.

A quiet step closer.

The first time she chose to sit beside us instead of across the room.

And then one night, everything shifted.

She climbed up next to us, rested her head gently on our lap, and let out a deep, soft sigh—the kind that sounds like relief after holding something in for too long.

From that moment on, she started to settle.

The confusion faded.

The worry softened.

Now, she greets us at the door with a wag that fills the whole room. She follows us from space to space, not because she’s unsure—but because she knows she belongs.

We may never fully know her past.

But we know this—

her future is safe.

And as the new year began, so did something else.

A new life.

A new home.

A new chapter where she is no longer lost…

but deeply, completely loved. 🐾❤️
