The Mississippi National Guard has issued a statement regarding the helicopters at the Fair on Tuesday morning.

At around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025, two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters flown by the Mississippi National Guard landed in the designated landing zone at the center of the Neshoba County Fair racetrack. Due to circumstances currently being reviewed and investigated by the MSNG, initial reports indicate the aircraft rotor wash caused a disturbance near the southwest portion of the racetrack.
The Mississippi National Guard sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and disturbance.

For many years, the Mississippi National Guard has participated in the Neshoba County Fair’s annual military and veterans event. Each year, we are humbled by the hospitality, patriotism, and kindness shown by fairgoers and the citizens of Neshoba County. More damage reports are coming in from Sunset Strip after two Black Hawk helicopters landing for the Veterans program took out awnings and scattered porch furniture Tuesday morning. There were no injuries, Fair officials said, but one cabin owner said her son and his dog were trapped under a table that was overturned.
