Mystery in the Sky
This cloud formation happened naturally. I was talking about the news on the phone with a partner minutes beforehand, so my mind immediately went "Oh? Am I cooked? Is this the moment?". So I sat down on the step, took sunset pics, and thought to myself "Meh. I lived a good life."

Needless to say, it wasn't a bad thing falling through the sky and I survived long enough to make this post. Sometimes, life is funny and photography can serve as a laugh track XD.

I literally was taking out the trash when suddenly all these colors hit the sky and the next half an hour was just pure magic. I am truly grateful.

Waiting Impatiently
I'm seeing a distinct Improvement with my photography as of late and I'm proud of that. I think it's one of the very few ways that I'm stitching myself together these days, a very literal way to focus. Art is connection. Art is expression. Art is resistance.

We Always Mattered
I know the people who put that up in their window and they are some of the kindest neighbors I've had in the last couple of years. They live that statement every chance they get in a proactive way and I deeply appreciate that. I was inspired to do this set of self-portraits specifically while my afro is out because to me, it is a symbol of black liberation and I wear it with a lot of pride. I also loved using a silhouette for this because it makes it more ambiguous and symbolic almost. And I think this was the perfect timing to feel compelled to make these since we are seeing the actuality of the statement that if all of us are not free, then none of us are.
