We’re expecting lots of rain tomorrow, so the Schuylkill river skate with has been rescheduled to Saturday December 23!

Next Saturday, we will skate from Paine’s Park to the East Falls bridge on the Schuylkill River Trail. This is for intermediate-advanced skaters. You should be comfortable with braking, turning, and skating up/down hills. This is a 3 mile round-trip with frequent breaks and no road crossing! Skateboards and non-electric scooters are welcome 🙂

Meet at Paine’s Park (skate park behind the art museum) for this skate at 1:30pm. He will be wearing black rollerblades and a big purple scarf.

Our next official event will be next month, but in the meantime, we hope those interested will enjoy Laura Sims on their own! Here is the current public skate schedule (as well as info on open hockey, figure skating lessons, and special holiday events).

Wednesday 7- 9 pm
Friday 7:45 - 9:45 pm
Saturday & Sunday: first session 3-5 pm, second session 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
Free Admission. Skate Rental $3.00 (increasing to $5 in 2024).

Back by popular demand! 🌈⛸️ Once again, find and her rainbow gloves at the public skate on Saturday, December 9, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Laura Sims is an indoor rink located at 210 Cobbs Creek Parkway in Philadelphia (end of Walnut Street). The rink has bathrooms, a parking lot, and is close to several SEPTA stops.

No RSVP required; just show up for the Saturday afternoon public skate. Admission is free! Ice skate rentals are available for $3 (cash only).
