Microfiber pollution occurs when synthetic microfibers from clothing, textiles, and cleaning products are shed during washing or use. These tiny fibers are too small to be effectively captured by wastewater treatment systems and end up entering waterways, oceans, and soil, posing a significant threat to the environment and aquatic life.
