There are many aspects to stretching which modern-day fitness programs neglect to address. Yes, there are general benefits like increased flexibility and circulation, but studies have shown that regular stretching leads to an ability to adapt a little easier to difficult or challenging new circumstances, too.
Whether it’s the physical stretch you’re after, or the ability to cultivate patience and compassion, there are endless ways to benefit from stretching.

No matter what your goals are, chances are you’ve encountered some barriers in the form of mental or physical resistance. In this sense, it’s easy to see how both the mind and body can benefit from some ‘stretching’ - the initially uncomfortable sensations we encounter when trying new things usually lead to one of two outcomes:
1. We push past them and grow
2. We succumb to the challenge and remain the same.
