S T O R Y T I M E :

SummerJude started in the summer of 2017 right after my father had a stroke due to congestive heart failure. Life for me that year was chaotic on every level - professionally, personally, financially.. just everything. I needed something to take my attention away from all the changes happening around me that I couldn’t control.

I picked up my first mini loom and started experimenting. I loved weaving and playing with the different colors, weaving them in and out between the warp strands. My projects were portable and I often carried them wherever I went.

On this day my friend & I went on a day trip to Lily dale. She met with a medium in a little yellow house while I stayed in the car to continue working on my loom. When she returned she told me that MY grandmother had a message specifically for me - to keep playing with yarn and never stop. My grandmother, a crocheter herself passed away when I was 8 years old so I just kept this little message in my back pocket as inspiration to keep exploring and staying creative.

SUMMERJUDE is an ode to my father, John Jude who passed in 2019 and the season when everything began. Almost 6 years later and it’s evolved to so much more than small weaving projects. I truly feel like I’ve just begun.
