I visited Mi Primo today at his final breathing space. A beautiful tall brush known as the "Esperanza" flower is growing at his memorial bench! Comadre Aleida Wedgworth taught me about that flower. Alfonso was a tall teen and I believe he is growing in spirit through the flowers grateful for the art. Today I had good news for him. I'm teaming up with a Chicano historian to gather the paper work in hopes to finally get his plaque. I cried at how amazing the yellow flowers looked and how he is one of the ancestors blessing me to preserve history and cultura. I love you Alfonso. Te Amo Primo.
