Research consistently shows that LGBTQIA+ people, particularly youth and transgender or nonbinary people, disproportionately experience mental health crises compared to their cisgender, heteros*xual peers:

• LGBTQIA+ adults are 2.5 times more likely to experience depression, anxiety, and substance use.

• LGBTQIA+ youth are over four times as likely to attempt su***de compared to their peers. Among transgender adults, nearly half report considering su***de in the past year.

Brenda Howard is known as the "Mother of Pride." She was an American bis*xual rights activist and s*x-positive feminist who organized the first Christopher Street Liberation Day March in 1970 to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, originating the idea for the week-long series of events that evolved into annual Pride celebrations. 🏳️‍🌈
