Just to let everyone know, I am accepting bookings for next year. I have approx 7 to 10 jobs booked already. So if you or someone you know is in search of a dj for their wedding, please send them my way and i will discuss what services I provide and my price range then. Thanks all.
Putting a note on here that is hopefully shared by people that know a bride still looking for a photographer or dj or caterer or any profession associated with weddings and receptions. I was sitting at home tonight when I get a call asking if I'm a dj and are you busy tonight? Answers were yes and no. Next, how much to dj my wedding tonight, my dj didn't show up? How much was he charging you? She told me and I told her by bare minimum for going out, which was $200 more than the other guy had charged her. Then I hear, can you do 2 places for that? What do you mean? The reception is at Milestones on the base and the wedding is at Licklider's pond. OK. Can you be here in half an hour? I live on West 10th in Peru, and Licklider's Pond, which I have never been to, is about 12 miles away. I have to be there, playing, in 30 minutes. I did what I could, and after my heart quit beating about 120 BPM, everyone said they had a great night tonight. But brides, PLEASE quit trying to cut corners on the dj or the photographer. I KNOW weddings are expensive, trust me, my daughter got married 2 years ago. Even djing it myself and catering it through my mom, we still spent more than I care to say. (I will say what we spent on the wedding, we could have bought a very nice used car.) I normally charge $700.00 for up to 6 hours. I have 20 years experience, never missed a job and never been late to a job. I have done over a dozen weddings were the dj was charging $200 or $300. I put over 12 hours into each of my weddings. That includes meeting face to face with the bride, driving time, set up time, waiting 2 hours because I get there that early to ensure there is no way I miss it, tear down time and drive home time. The dj is the entire entertainment for the reception. He can make or break one of the most important days of your life. The photographer is where you get your memories from. you only get ONE chance to get that special picture dancing with your dad. Take time to read their recommendation letters from brides that have used them in the past. Ask your reception hall if they recommend anybody. Last thing, cheapest isn't always best. Remember the line from the movie "Armageddon". We're blasting off in a rocket, sitting on top of a million pounds of rocket fuel, and it's all built by the lowest bidder. It was NOT a complimentary line.

Here's an announcement for any bride that has hired me or any that are thinking of hiring me. My wife is having a Tupperware Party at our house on February 18th at 6:00 PM. Any bride that comes to the party and buys something, I will take an equal amount off of your wedding up to $50.00. So if you spend $30.00, I will take $30.00 off your balance. If you spend $75.00, I'll take $50.00 off of your balance. So come to the party, and basically get some free Tupperware up to $50.00. Message me for the address and with any questions you might have.
This is just an informational post. I know in recent years there has been a trend to wait till closer to the date of the wedding to book the dj. I want to let anyone thinking of booking me to do it early because I am already booking up quick for next year. I have 5 weekends already booked, and 3 of those are during peak season of May - August. And for those that haven't looked at it yet, brides, if you want an easy date for your husband to remember what day you were married, I still have 12/13/14 open.
Have a request of all you married ladies to help brides with they're receptions. Whether you have been married 2 months or 40 years, what, in hind sight, was the most important part of the reception. It doesn't matter if I was your dj or not, I just want to do an un-scientific survey. If you could have done something different, what would it have been, or was your reception the perfect night you hoped it would be. Kinda list what, in your mind was most important, like 1) cake, 2) catering, 3)dj 4) decorations, 5) alcohol. Whatever you feel now was the most important part of the evening. Thank you. (Kayla, since you're my daughter, don't do this. Love you.)
Jamie from Digital Evolution was a fantastic DJ for my mother's wedding. We gave him a list of all the music we wanted to have played & he got everything on the list. It all ranged from swing, to 70's & 80's rock, to some country, from pop to dance & beyond. He took the music we wanted to enjoy & arranged it in a nice mix throughout the entire reception. He kept us moving all night long & played the slower stuff at just the right moments so we could catch our breath for the next great up-beat song. He was even able to take a song my brother, who is away in the Marine Corps, wrote & recorded himself all the way in California & played it for our family to dance to together. Not to mention his fantastic talent as an enthusiastic emcee & his light display was fantastic! He truly made my mother's wedding reception something all of our family & friends will remember for the rest of our lives.

Prospective brides: If you would like to see what past brides have thought about my service, please look in the photos section above.
This is early, but it's time for my End of the Year Special!! Book your 2014 wedding now and receive $100.00 off when you mention you saw the ad on face book. My rates for 2014 will be January through April -- $700.00, May through August -- $800.00, September through December -- $700.00. This gets you up to 6 hours at your reception, a dj/emcee with 19 years experience, has never missed or been late for a job. A dj that truly cares that the bride and groom have the most perfect day they could think of. I meet with the bride, and groom if he can make it, between 1 and 2 weeks before the wedding to discuss how they want the reception to go. I can provide music for the wedding at an additional charge of $75.00. This covers setting up the music for the wedding at the meeting, I come to the rehearsal so the bridal party can do the run through with the music there, and I play music as the guests arrive. My overtime rate is one of the lowest in the business at $25.00 per hour. I have been told I am every bit as good as dj's charging $1,200.00, and if you want to pay me $1,200.00, I'll take it. But I like to give brides and grooms an economical choice without having to give up the professionalism the deserve. If you have any questions, my phone number is (765) 327-3550. Thank you.
