Well, here's the finished product! Definitely took more time than it should have, but between running into a large wasp nest, getting stung multiple times and trying to get rid of it, then going on a wasted trip to the dump we ended up getting done late last night.

Did a little bit of flashing work this morning. The old tar was cracked and holding water which was causing a leak into the house. Problem solved!

We ended up working late into the night to get this one finished before the rain (that was supposed to come in by 10am this morning..) came. Honestly this is the first time we've done something like this. The flashing work wasn't hard, but the cricket really wasn't fun. The sealant did get a little messy by the cricket due to forgetting about it while we were up on the roof in the dark. However, everything was double checked this morning. All exposed nails and fasteners were covered with weather resistant clear silicone and any gaps were addressed. Also, I say we, but on this job it was a one man operation. Next time around this would and will be a two man. There was entirely too much for one person to be doing. 😆

Just got done with the preliminary flashing. Now onto the cricket, finish laying shingles, then the embedded counter flashing on the chimney!

Just got done with tearing off this layer of shingles and made a store run to grab the metal brake and some mortar materials. We were hoping to not have to do additional mortar work to the bottom of this chimney, but here we are. Lol

Start to finish with a little lag for store run and inspection, but got a 13.5 square roof done in just over 5 hours! From tear off to clean up!

And just like that, rotten boards were replaced after a store run, ice & water and felt were installed, and the roof has been inspected! On to laying down the shingles!
