In the spirit of giving back to our community and starting off this year of the Fire Horse in a good way, we would like to give you all access to a recording of our 2/22 2:22 sound bath. If you ever need to recalibrate between our events, just cant make it out, or have never attended but have been considering it; here is one you can always come back to of course they are always better in person. Well, that's a wrap! A delightful summer season of outdoor Sound Bath experiences. Have a look at this photo gallery of memorable moments that included a Sound Bath in the woods of Aaron and Shakti Penelope's property, a Floating Sound Bath in the Dodd Pavilion pool in Miami, and a magical Sound Bath inside Aaron's teepee surrounded by flowers and beautiful scenery. It was so wonderful to combine the healing vibrations of nature with the therapeutic effect of our music. Now that the weather has turned chilly, we are back in the Amethyst Room upstairs at the Sunspot Natural Market. We've included in this post some photos from our first recent Sound Bath back indoors for the month of October. Our next Sound Bath will be on November 16th at 2:30 pm. Sacred Sounds Sound Bath Ensemble is so honored to have had our sound bath experience reviewed and mentioned in an article written by reporter Adair McDonald for the online publication Indy Maven. In it Adair highlights how to engage in regular self care to increase inner peace without having to attend expensive, multi-day retreat experiences. How fortunate our sound bath was included as one of her adventures for more accessible self care events!

Here is an excerpt in which she touches on her experience with us:
"I love listening to singing bowls and new age music to wind down before bedtime, but until recently, I’d never been to a live sound bath. With that in mind and a rare Sunday night to myself, I searched Eventbrite and found Sacred Sounds Ensemble hosting a summer forest sound bath in Peru, IN. It was a drive, but so worth it. The musicians created an atmosphere of soothing compassion, and being outdoors, it really seemed as though the birds were singing along. The fellow participants and I all seemed deeply moved by this peaceful hour. I experienced it as similar to meditation, but the beautiful, immersive sounds made it much easier to stay present. Afterwards, my body felt great and my heart was full of gratitude....

Each one of these offerings have been transformative for some people, and are, at the very least, likely to increase feelings of wellbeing and decrease stress for most of us. These all have the potential to push some people out of their comfort zone, but are also quite welcoming and inclusive, which is why I chose them. Expanding our zone of comfort in a safe and supportive environment shows us that positive change is possible, and if we make it a priority to do these sorts of “out of the box” activities more often, we become more open to knowing that we have the ability to change our mood and recenter ourselves on our priorities- especially when we are noticing that we need a mental/emotional boost.

These are just a few ideas that I gathered- but if you search for local events and ask around, you are sure to find lots more. The hardest thing for many of us is to actually choose something and go for it, but if you challenge yourself to commit to one new and positive experience, it will be easier the second, third, and fourth time, and eventually, you may find that your zone of comfort has greatly increased. This is how we learn more about ourselves and others, and it’s part of how people get healthier and happier."

Being as we had to make some last-minute decisions today, I would like to offer this token to our community. We know how important a self-care routine is and are grateful we have become part of yours. This is an older recording from this Fall, outside, at Catey Heritage Farm. It is before our new computer mic and is unfortunately compressed to be able to put it on soundcloud, however it is still enjoyable with a good set of speakers.

Here we are as an ensemble, all smiles after a lovely full moon sharing at the Sunspot Amethyst Room this past December 15th. It was just what everybody needed before the holiday activity - a moment of pause and self care while listening to soothing sounds.

One of our favorite things about this forming sound bath community is getting to chat afterwards with participants and hear each other's experiences.
